Angola: Journalists Exhorted to Work Towards Retrieval of Ethical and Moral Values

Luanda — Journalists have been called to work with experts from various areas for the retrieval of ethical and moral values, in order to decrease anti-social practices,ANGOP has learnt.

The call came from the writer and university teacher Luis Kandjimbo, when speaking on the role of the media in retrieving ethical and moral values in society, during a talk held under the celebrations of the Journalists International Day, marked on September 08.

According to Luis Kandjimbo, media workers as a link between the state and the society should work with physicians, anthropologists, sociologists, psychologists, economists, academicians and chieftains, so that together with these researchers be identified the real causes of the loss of values, in order to point out solutions.

The lecturer said that the conflict between the traditional and modernity is pointed out as a vehicle that worsens the loss of moral and ethical values, therefore some practices are beneficial and others are not.

The event was attended by the deputy minister of Social Communication, Manuel Miguel de Carvalho "Wadijimbi", high officials of that ministerial department ministry, students and journalists.
