
Angola: Journalists Told to Improve Use of Language
Luanda — The senior journalist of the weekly "O Pais", Luís Fernando, Wednesday in Luanda spoke of the need for the Angolan media professionals to engage in the correct use of Portuguese language, as a fundamental tool in the job.
Speaking to Angop, during the Maboque Journalism Prize announcement gala, journalist Luís Fernando said Angolan media professional must seek to use the Portuguese language correctly, in order to improve the quality of their work.
He said the newsrooms are confronted with poor knowledge of Portuguese.
According to him, there is need for constant and intense study of the working language, recalling however that the problem is of conjuncture as the teaching of Portuguese is also very poor.
The winners of the yearly Maboque Journalism Prize were announced Wednesday night in Luanda.
