Angola: Media Organs Diversity Improves Journalism Quality
Luanda — The deputy minister of Social Communication, Manuel Miguel de Carvalho "Wadijimbi", Thursday in Luanda, said that diversification of media organs in the country helps improve the quality of journalism, Angop learnt.
"Wadijimbi", who was speaking at the ceremony of announcement of the winners of the 2010 edition of the Maboque Journalism Prize, said currently there are in the country various radio stations, newspapers and TV channels, which gives the public a wider range of options.
"Today, people read the paper of their interest, (listen to) the radio programme of their interest, also watch the television programme of their interest. This demands much from journalists," he stated.
In his turn, the director of the Journalist Training Centre (Cefojor), Albino Carlos, said that the various training sessions held in the country seek to provide professionals with technical and academic tools that help them meet the challenges of the country's social communication.
